Why Sugaring?
Experience the amazing benefits of sugaring! This fabulous hair removal method uses all-natural ingredients, making it a fantastic choice, especially for those with sensitive skin. Plus, the sugar paste sticks only to the hair minimizing irritation and discomfort. And the best part? Sugaring removes hair in the direction of growth, giving you a silky-smooth finish while reducing the risk of pesky ingrown hairs!
Sugaring VS Waxing
Sugaring and waxing are both effective methods for epilation (hair removal) and achieving smooth skin, each with its unique advantages. Sugaring utilizes a natural blend of sugar, lemon, and water, applied at body temperature and removed in the direction of hair growth, resulting in less irritation. On the other hand, waxing employs a resin-based product applied at a warmer temperature and removed against the hair growth direction, which can lead to more discomfort and hair breakage. While both methods effectively remove hair, sugaring is often regarded as the gentler option for your skin.
Is Sugaring for Everyone?
PRECAUTIONS & CONSIDERATIONS: Please review these important guidelines. - Sugaring cannot be performed on sunburned, irritated, or open skin areas. - After a light chemical peel or Microdermabrasion, you must wait at least seven (7) days before sugaring. - Sugaring is not allowed if you have undergone laser skin resurfacing in the last 6 months. -Thin, sensitive skin is more vulnerable to lifting and sensitivity during waxing. Women may experience heightened sensitivity to sugaring up to a week before their cycle; it is best to schedule your appointment within 5 days after your period ends. WARNING: Sugaring is not performed on clients taking Accutane and is not recommended for those using Retin A, Renova, Differin, or other skin-thinning acne medications. Please consult with your sugar specialist if you are unsure.
History of Sugaring
Sugaring is an ancient hair removal method that dates back to ancient Egypt, where it was used by women to maintain smooth skin. This natural technique involves using a paste made from sugar, lemon juice, and water, which is heated and then applied to the skin. The paste adheres to the skin, allowing for easy removal in the direction of hair growth, minimizing discomfort. Throughout the years, sugaring has gained popularity as a more natural alternative to waxing, appealing to those seeking gentle and effective hair removal solutions.
Pre- Care
Preparing for your sugaring appointment is essential for achieving the best results. Exfoliate your skin at least 2 days prior, but avoid doing so the day before, the day of, and the day after your treatment. Make sure to refrain from using lotions, creams, or oils on the areas being treated, and skip deodorant if you're having your underarms sugared. For optimal results, ensure hair is at 1/4 inch long; if you've been shaving, allow 10-14 days of regrowth before your appointment.
Post- Care
After your sugaring treatment, it's crucial to care for your skin properly. For the first 24 hours, avoid applying scented lotions or creams, exfoliating, using deodorant (if applicable), and exposing your skin to heat, direct sunlight, or makeup. Remember to skip the gym for the day as well. To maintain healthy skin, we recommend exfoliating 3-4 times a week. For hydration, use lightweight oils or hyaluronic shower oil to soften hair and reduce ingrown hairs. Treat your skin right for the best results!
